Summer Solstice & the Season of Summer: Esoteric Understanding

Dear Readers, the information below is spiritual, esoteric, religious, historical and astrological. And that is good. However, it is June 2009 and the world situation on all levels is becoming more and more volatile as we are seeing in Iran at this time. When there is revolution there is a great release of energy. Before the new culture and civilization (Ray 7) emerges there must be breakdown of the old dictates and regimes (Ray 6). We are completing the previous age under Ray 6 and entering the New Aquarian Age, under Ray 7. This produces breakdown and dissolution leading to revolution – all around us within every realm and kingdom. I must write and tell everyone that it is time to seriously begin to prepare for a world that will become, for many of us, a great unknown and completely different. I will not dance around the situation. As I have written in the past year, each of us must find our community, begin to store food and water and supplies, have a greenhouse and a source of back-up energy (generators). And to use our dollars for essentials needed for the coming times. We do not want to be unprepared as Autumn of 2009 approaches. It is practical to be prepared for the worst we can imagine. Then we are safe. We are in a time of extreme change and transformation (Saturn opposite Uranus, Pluto in Capricorn). We are in the beginnings of a great and potent Initiation. I ask every reader – what do these words signify for you? How would you best prepare?
Summer
Summer solstice occurs when the Sun is poised at the Tropic of Cancer (esoteric Gateway, northern hemisphere). The devic (angelic) kingdom (green and violet builders of the plant kingdom), having completed their work for the year, now prepare for a golden wedding celebration (Midsummer wedding, Midsummer Night’s Dream). This celebration takes place within our bodies, hearts & minds, too. How does this occur? It is at summer solstice that, for esotericists and men and women of Goodwill who have participated in the monthly full and new moon festivals (meditation, reciting the Great Invocation), the Sun & moon seeds of consciousness, deposited (at the new and full moons throughout the past year) in the pineal and pituitary gather in the 3rd ventricle in the head. Here (at the moment of solstice) an etheric fire lights up and new awareness, consciousness and information become available.
Marriage Bed
The 3rd ventricle in the head, esoterically, is called the "marriage bed" where the pineal/pituitary or male/female polarities (radiatory from the Sun and receptive from the moon) energies combine, unite and synthesize and a new birth or state of consciousness appears. (Note: this is also the purpose and function of the Holy Eucharist or communion at Catholic Mass.) For those who would like to begin to participate in the upcoming new and full moon festivals (one must have consistency each month), we begin the "new year" at the Cancer new moon festival, Monday, June 22nd.
Seasons, Church, Liturgy, Festivals
The seasons, times of light and dark (Spirit/soul & matter interwoven), are created by the tilt of the earth’s axis. As all things on earth are under the influences of the Sun/moon, stars and planets (astrology) and the light of the heavens, so too are the solstices and equinoxes connected to specific astrological signs and to specific feast days in the Catholic/Christian liturgy (which in turn were also based upon specific Judaic festivals). It is important to understand the lineages - esoteric (wisdom, mysteries), astrological, Christian,, Jewish festivals. All are connected to specific astrological cardinal (Initiating) signs constituting the Cardinal Cross.
Light & Dark, Invocation & Evocation, Into Matter & Return to Spirit
It is important to understand the difference between the two aspects (increasing light & increasing dark) of the year. There are times of increasing light (winter solstice to spring equinox to summer solstice) and times of decreasing of the light or increasing darkness (summer solstice to autumn equinox to winter solstice).
Decreasing of the Light
The decreasing light symbolizes the Soul’s descent into matter, esoterically referred to as the involutionary arc, our original journey from Spiritual realms to life in form and matter (Earth).
Increasing of the Light – Soul’s Release
The Soul for millions of years maintains a quiet presence within the body of each individual in order to experience form and matter and understand its rules. The increasing light (of the year) symbolizes the Soul’s release from it’s “imprisonment” (a metaphor) in form and matter and its gradual ascent (think Resurrection & Ascension of Christ) back to spiritual realms (journey on the Evolutionary Arc toward the Home of the Father in Shamballa) in order that, after its knowledge of life in form and matter and within the personality, can become the director of the personality, flooding it with light, wisdom and Love. This is the hidden esoteric mystery we live out each year. This is the hidden teaching behind the liturgy of the Catholic faith. This is also esotericism explained.

Baptism Initiation
Wednesday, June 24th, Midsummer Day, is the feast day of (the nativity of) St. John the Baptist (one who baptizes), an important festival in co-Masonry. St. John the Baptist was the cousin of Jesus and the prophet who foretold the coming of the Messiah, the Divine position held by the Christ (the One from Sirius, Ray 2). When Jesus was thirty years of age, he walked into the desert to the River Jordon to be baptized by John. As the waters poured down upon Jesus, a dove appeared and words were heard from the Father (God), "Behold, this is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." It was at this time (the baptism) that the Divine Being called the Christ overshadowed (used the human body of) Jesus and the Christ began His three-year ministry on Earth. In human terms, this is a time of transformation, when we are able to receive into our bodies the impression from the Buddhic plane, the Intuition, the place of pure reason and Love/wisdom.
Baptism
Baptism is the 2nd Initiation. It is the cleansing and purification of the emotional/astral realm/body. When the emotional realm is purified it is then able to receive impressions from the Intuition (Buddhic).
Kurukshetra – the Battle
The personality (physical body, emotions, lower mind) begins to display Soul qualities (love, unity, intentions for goodwill leading to Right Relations with all kingdoms, etc.). When the emotional body (astral) is fully cleansed it becomes “still” and the waters begin to reflect the Buddhic (pure reason, unconditional love leading to wisdom leading to the ability to serve). This “baptism” initiation in India is referred to as “entering the stream” (image of waters, pur-ification by water). The emotions are the battleground of the Soul – referred to as the Kurukshetra (war, battle, Arjuna in dilemma, a choice called forth between two equally opposing forces). The choice occurring during the 2nd or Baptism Initiation concerns the focus of the emotional body. Is it receiving direction from the Soul (fixed cross) or must the emotional body remain focused within the personality still gaining experiences within the physical realm (on the mutable cross). This becomes in time a great dilemma, a great time of choice and a battle ensues.
Personality Directed by the Soul
When a lifetime occurs that the emotional body and personality are fully able to be directed by the Soul (and thus seek to serve others), and when the Soul and the Intuition are reflected in the emotional body, the heart center truly awakens (the energy has moved from the solar plexus to the heart – a reorientation). It is at this time that we awaken to the nature of Life itself and the true nature of Relationships. It is the heart center that is able to unite, connect, build bridges and make contact. Contact then releases Love. What then results is aspiration which replaces desire; cooperation replacing competition; and sharing which replaces selfishness. (It is important to recognize that having desires, feeling competition and acting with selfishness are needed developmental stages which “grow” the personality). With aspiration, cooperation and sharing, the virtues of the Soul-directed personality, we then have the ability to radiate Goodwill to all kingdoms. Goodwill is the Mother Principle that nourishes all beings, planes and kingdoms on Earth. Radiating Goodwill is part of the Soul’s longing to serve.
These are the steps along the Pathway to the Soul and to the Will of God. It is good to discern where in this process we each stand. And aspire to the next level.
Summer’s Three Astrological Signs & Their Significance Esoterically
The three signs of summer - Cancer, Leo & Virgo – have esoteric significance:
Cancer – Baptism by water – cleansing of emotional body
Leo – fire sign – new creativity fires leading to new spiritual identity
Virgo – earth – new state of consciousness gestating within form and matter – nine months from Virgo (counting backward through the signs to Capricorn {Virgo, Leo, Cancer, Gemini, Taurus, Aries, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn} this new state is birthed at winter solstice.
Quotes from the Tibetan
As we study the blue books of the Tibetan, there are references to St. John the Baptist. We are told that when St. John the Baptist recognized Jesus who would be the Christ, John said, “He shall increase but I shall decrease.” These reflect the meditative seed thought in Gemini, as it prepares for Cancer. We remember Gemini’s seed thought on the Soul level is “I recognize my other self (personality) and in the waning of that self (personality), I (the Soul) grow and glow.”
The Cancer seed thought on the Soul level, referring to the growing light is
“I build a lighted house and therein dwell.”
Let us read the esoteric quotes from the Tibetan concerning St. John the Baptist, pondering upon these words as we participate with the New Group of World Servers in the Summer equinox, the Cancer new moon festival, and the feast day of St. John the Baptist.
From Glamour, A World Problem, p. 271-2
“The issues are now entirely clear. It is a question of timing and of decision. I would remind you that it is the disciple who, in full consciousness, acts. He initiates all the processes himself. It is not the Angel or the Dweller but the spiritual man himself who has to employ the will and take definite forward moving action. Once the disciple has taken the necessary steps and moved irrevocably forward, the response of the Angel is sure, automatic and all-enveloping. Complete obliteration of the personal self (personality) in three successive stages (physical body, emotions, lower mind) is the immediate and normal result. It was to this that John the Baptist referred when he said, "He shall increase but I must decrease." (Note from Risa - think of Soul increasing, personality decreasing.) When he spoke these words, he spoke as a disciple, prior to the second initiation of the threshold. This occult waxing and waning is portrayed for us in the phases of the moon and, for the planet as a whole, in the sign Gemini, where the light of one of the twins is slowly dimming and the light of the other is gaining in intensity.
“When this "occult obliteration" has taken place, what then is the destiny of the disciple? It is complete control by the soul and this, in practice, connotes group realization, group work, group service and eventually group initiation.”

"Close to our earth, on the road to rebirth, is a great Life in process of taking etheric form. This Life, being on the evolutionary arc and not constituting the life of a decaying shell, is having a real effect in the inauguration of the New Age. This effect is twofold: - through the emanations from the astral body of this great Life the work of breaking down the separate wall of individualism which demonstrates in man as selfishness and in nations as nationalism is carried forward. Through this rapidly integrating etheric body this Life is bringing the etheric body of our planet into a state of increased rapid vibration. Reference will be found in the Treatise on Cosmic Fire to an avatar from Sirius who comes to bring about certain planetary effects. This Life is not that Avatar but is in the nature of a forerunner - of a St. John the Baptist, who "baptiseth with water (astral emanations) and the Holy Ghost". (from Risa – cleanses the emotional field.) More information along these lines is not possible, but mention is made of it, as the energies coming from these two factors must be borne in mind."
Aquarian World Teacher
As Christ was the teacher of the Pisces Age, providing humanity with the Ray 6 virtues of hope and faith and anchoring Love and the Wisdom the Buddha, He is and will also be the Aquarian World Teacher distributing the Aquarian Laws & Principles. In 1945 at the June Full Moon (3 degrees Cancer/Capricorn) the Christ announced that He had made His decision (after a nine year assessment) to reappear as the World Teacher (also) during the Aquarian Age in order to continue His teachings on Love but to also anchor Spiritual Will (on earth and in form and matter for where there is Ray 7 - Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and distributes Ray 7 - there is always Ray 1, Power, Will of the Father).
New & Full Moon Festivals
Participating in the new and full moons each month with the NGWS lays not only the foundation for the new world religions (all nations and peoples will celebrate at the same time based upon the Sun & moon's positions) but is also constitutes the important preparatory work needed for Christ to reappear. The new and full moon work also assists in the anchoring of Light (divine intelligence), Love/Wisdom and Power (Will of God) on Earth. The NGWS are the receptors and radiators. Everyone is invited to join us.
From this festival work, we are each able to give life to what the Christ asked us to do – to tend to each other as brothers and sisters, to “Love one another (as I have loved you”). Let us begin to have this intention this summer, this year – together.

ARIES: Notice your many and various goals this past year. You've climbed the ladder to a pinnacle in order to reach those goals. You have become over time very potent. Notice also your new authority, one finer tuned, more responsible, and aware of the importance to serve others. These are great accomplishments though they felt like great challenges. You have done well. Continue.
TAURUS: More and more you demonstrate your true self and which is an illumined leader and teacher many seek in these times of change and transformation, creating crisis, stress and strain. Actively pursuing a “call”, you barely have time for other realities. Continue contacting those sharing your concern for humanity's future. Use resources to help humanity in the challenging times to come. Create, and then expand your unusual garden.
GEMINI: Offer praise and recognition for everything in your life. Each of us is deeply blessed with creative gifts and abilities. Each of us has a group around us whose purpose is to help us grow, transform, achieve, evolve and grow even more. We contract with family and friends before birth to act in ways that helps us move forward spiritually. Because we don't remember (this contract) this often feels difficult. Nonetheless, thank them - from Soul to Soul.
CANCER: You feel your Work takes you away from family. And then family feels like it takes you away from work. Your task and lesson, difficult as it may seem, is to balance the two. The more difficult this is, the greater the Initiation (greater awareness, greater responsibilities). Do you have visions and dreams for a different future? Or have you given up on dreaming? In between exhaustion and despair a glimmer of a future dream may occur. Watch for it.
LEO: Your life has taken on dimensions that at times seem overwhelming. So much to do, so many thoughts moving through your mind yet hidden behind a veil. This brings forth great emotions. As you try expressing yourself your find communication difficult, tangled, and wrought with, at times, sadness. The family is still here but it needs communication. Is your love life assuming a new path?
VIRGO: An extraordinary creativity is building within. Perhaps you consider yourself not especially creative. This year many creative ideas will appear in your mind. You're being impressed from spiritual realms to bring your artist self forth through collecting, growing and building the life force within all kingdoms. You do this by expressing love to all. These are only a few creative ways. You know many more. Clean and rearrange those crystals.
LIBRA: Thoughts from the past determine actions within your present/future. Therefore, in therapeutic terms, you might change your thoughts. Are you living in the past and/or functioning under the dictates of another? However you want freedom. But your beliefs hinder this. Read Gemini to understand spiritual contracts. Summon discrimination, have the intention to always radiate Goodwill and love more. Your life will then uplift and change.
SCORPIO: Communication, so expanded, full and rich, remains internal. You do need to communicate your thoughts to those who listen carefully, respond appropriately, and even maintain silence as you speak. Allowing those you trust to understand you strengthens your sense of security. You are not an island. Don't keep secrets. Allow what you know to be shared. You’ll find those you can trust.
SAGITTARIUS: A new world stage is preparing itself for you. Sagittarians are publishers, world travelers, philosophers standing in no one's shadow. In fact these adventurous warriors create shadows others stand in. You continue to be at the razor’s edge of change. However, that change is not quite prepared enough for you. Maintain your present direction and state of being. Doors open by themselves. The grass grows by itself.
CAPRICORN: Inner impressions from are informing you to take time alone and rest. You need to reorient, re-evaluate and then to simply just unwind from your extraordinary states of responsibility. Observing your actions we award your constant far reaching standards of beauty applied to all areas of life. Now you are to relax and rejuvenate before your next tasks appear.
AQUARIUS: Realities in life begin with hopes, wishes, dreams and imagination. Form and matter are shaped by what we imagine until one day our dreams become concrete events and experiences. Attempt to clarify what is important to you, what you want to pursue, and who you want to be in the years to come. Sometimes this is difficult. Some of us live only in the moment. But within each moment there is a vision for our future. Try to capture it.
PISCES: You may have had plans for the immediate future. They may change. There is a collaboration occurring with you and another. Pursuing this will bring about a synthesis that will take you far into the future into a world very different than now. Understand the present planetary changes you “seek to serve and not exact due service. You seek to heal not hurt.” But at times you are hurting which deepens compassion for your particular task.
