Moon Void-of-Course: A Time of Rest
A Moon (past, feeling connected, nurturing process)
void-of-course (not connecting) period occurs about every
three days, and is a result of the Moon making no major
(mathematical) connections to other planets. This
phenomena occurs prior to the Moon moving into the
influence of the next sign (constellation). The Moon's
energetic field affects Earth's electro-magnetic field
which in turn affects our daily lives, our emotions, our
thinking processes, and our connections
(emotional/feeling) to and with others. Often our daily
organized life feels disrupted during the hours and/or
days of a void-of-course (v/c). In fact, the v/c time is
meant to be a resting period, when we gather what we've
done since the last v/c and plan, organize, reshape, and
assess. This prepares us for the next couple of days
before another v/c occurs.
The entire vault of heaven containing the Moon, Sun,
planets, stars and their interrelationships to each other
is a much larger (macrocosm) reality than our Earth
reality (microcosm). What happens in the sky above us is
a picture of what will, and does, occur here. The
happenings on Earth are an active and receptive
reflection of the larger reality above, and this reality
is explained through the study of the science of
astrology. The concept of Earth being a smaller
reflection of the greater reality seen in the sky is very
important to understand. The ancient axiom is, "What's
above is also below." Whenever anything (a movement into
another sign, a connection or disconnection between
planets, Moon and Sun) occurs in the sky above then Earth
and her four kingdoms (human, animal, plant, and mineral)
are affected. This is, in fact, how everything
evolves.
The previous paragraph defines the study and science
of astrology at its foundational level. Astrology is
basically geometry. It's said in the Ageless Wisdom
literature that, "God geometrizes." This (astrology) is
the "Geometry of God." So, if the Moon above is not
making any mathematical connections to any planets, then
we aren't making connections on Earth either. Thus the
period of making no connections is called a Moon void-of-
(having no) course (connections). It's a slow-down time
for everyone -- a reflective, internal, non-outer
connecting time. Since, of course, the larger portion of
humanity does not "believe" (study, observe, practice) in
astrology, these realities are non-existent (there is no
consciousness or study concerning these energies that
"fall" to Earth constantly and affect us). Only an
astrologer (or a community or group being taught
astrology) who knows this information can then use the
information for a scientific study of how the energies
feel during a Moon v/c. (This is why in the astrology
classes at our institute we first define the Scientific
Method and then inform our students that they must be
"scientific" (observe) when they first learn the
information.) So, an organic rhythm of Moon
void-of-course times occurs for humanity and the Earth
and all the kingdoms (mineral, plant, animal, human)
every three days informing us to rest, relax, and
recuperate. Some time in the future as this new Aquarian
era unfolds, we will use astrological information to
inform all of our endeavors which will create more order
in our world. This we will call the, "Art of Constructive
Living."
