2008 Cancer Full Moon
Meditative Seed Thoughts:
Personality Level:
"Let isolation be the rule -- yet the crowd exists."
Soul Level:
"I build a lighted house and therein dwell."
The Cancer Full Sun/Moon occurs July 18th at 12:59 am (PDT) at 26 degrees Cancer/Capricorn. The meditative seed thought for the personality as it develops in form and matter is, "Let isolation be the rule -- yet the crowd exists."* As we build the personality we are often isolated and lonely. Only when the Soul assumes direction of the personality do we feel engaged, held, tended, and part of the group to which we belong which we call humanity. We are also part of our daily spiritual study group and the New Group of World Servers. When the Soul is in control (and we need to call it forth) a new meditative seed thought is appropriate.
The Soul-level seed thought for the Cancer Full Moon is, "I build a lighted house and therein dwell."* Cancer builds the forces of Light within the body until, one day, we actually become what is known as a Light Body. This is not a reference to to weight (bulk) but to actual light, the type Edison discovered with the light bulb. The word "house" in the seed thought for Cancer refers to our physical body temple, which houses Spirit, but until we attract the Light (contact with the Soul whose purpose is to direct the personality), Spirit remains hidden.
Rays 3 & 7
The Hierarchy of Cancer receives the energies from two stars in the Big Dipper. The first is Ray 3, the builder of Active Intelligence, and the second is Ray 7, creating, through Ritual, a new order, new beauty, and Synthesis for the new Aquarian culture. In order for us to fully appreciate and find useful the opportunities offered during the Full Moon and month in which the Sun is pouring forth the vibrating rhythms of Cancer, we must first build an intelligence (Ray 3, Holy Spirit, Mind, the Great Architect of the Universe), an awareness, and a sensitivity concerning how our system of Spirit. Matter and Soul work together. For it is only through our knowledge, understanding, and the resultant intelligent activity that we will be able to participate consciously during the Aquarian Age in our evolutionary journey home (back to Spirit). Another word for Cancer is home, and the Cancer Hierarchy has been entrusted with guiding humanity's evolutionary journey toward that end.
Seven Bodies
The function of the Cancer Hierarchy, also called the Cherubim, is to continue to build finer and finer bodies within the human form through the medium of Light waves. This is accomplished by Neptune, the Soul ruler of Cancer, when the vicissitudes (from the Moon) of life are overcome. When speaking of bodies I an not only referring to the physical body, though that is the body we are most conscious of, as it is the vehicle we use to experience our present life-wave on Earth. When referring to bodies, I am speaking of the seven levels, dimensions, or states of consciousness that every human lives within. Please refer to our accompanying graph, called the Constitution of Man (remember that the word man means "Mind" in Sanskrit), to explain the "bodies" concept. For those who have not seen this graph and for others, in order to refresh the memory (memory is the gift of Cancer), the seven planes (each containing 7 subplanes) that we live within are called (from bottom to top):
1. Physical (containing the vital/etheric/electrical) (we can only see the first three subplanes)
2. Emotional/desire (or astral)
3. Mental (containing lower concrete brain and higher, abstract, symbolic mind)
4. Intuition (also called buddhic, Christ or Buddha mind, Raincloud of Knowable Things)
5. Atmic (world of Divine Spirits)
6. Monadic (world of Virgin Spirits)
7. Logoic (Spirit, world of the God of this solar system)
The non-physical bodies listed above (planes 2-7 including the top four of the physical plane), except for the physical, are actual sheaths consisting of finer and finer matter that extend beyond our physical body and connect us with higher regions or dimensions (planets, Beings) in our solar system. Most of us are familiar with the first three bodies (subplanes of the physical) because we live within the vital physical body, feel deeply with the desire body, and, having been educated, are able to think through the mental body. But when we come to the fourth body, that of intuition, there is often confusion. The intuitive body (or dimension) is actually the region of consciousness that religions refer to when they speak of the Christ or the Buddha. The intuitive is the realm of Ray 4 (Harmony Through Conflict and reflects the Monadic planet (Ray 2, Love/Wisdom), where Love, as taught by the Christ, and Wisdom, as taught by the Buddha, flow from and enter our minds.
Light as Nourishment
The Cherubim's work, especially during this solar month of Cancer, is to make sure that all higher dimensions (bodies) connect with the lower (bodies) because it is through contact with the higher bodies that the lower bodies evolve. The lower bodies are nourished (Cancer) through the Light substances from the higher bodies. This Light is distributed by the Soul, and it is through the gate of Cancer that the Soul emanates.
Therefore, the first body (physical) connects with the seventh (Spirit); the second (desire) body aspires to connect with the sixth; the third (mental) body connects with the fifth. That leaves the fourth by itself. And that is the area of concern at this time in terms of humanity's developments and the opportunity available in Cancer. For it is in the region of the fourth body, or dimension, where the Light used to form the finer bodies, or consciousness, of humanity is to be found. The fourth region, the intuitive, is the bridge that connects the higher dimensions with the lower. It is actually a gateway where the nourishment of Life and Light pour through. This Light has substance, and with the assistance of the Cherubim (Cancer Heirarchy), Neptune (Soul Ruler), and Rays 3 and 7, we are able to contact this Light. As a consequence, the Light builds into our bodies a consistent and continuing spiritual consciousness, an awareness of the cosmic Plan of evolution, intelligent humanitarian activities far beyond those previously performed, a sense of service toward all kingdoms on Earth, a oneness with Life, an enthusiasm (the word means "filled with God"), an inner beauty, and, eventually, actual contact with the Hierarchy, the Christ, and the Buddha. Our spiritual work progresses during this Full Moon through the medium of our conscious intentions and the intelligent pondering and visualization of the seed thought of Cancer. In time, we come home again.
