Uranus in Pisces: the Planetary
Culture of the Future

As we enter the field of Aries,
where all things new are initiated, we are also being
"made new" by two planetary shifts that will, over the
course of the next three to seven years, radically alter
our realities. The results of these shifts are that
humanity is becoming a global and planetary culture. The
words planetary and global signify our ability to see
life as undivided and whole, connected and
interdependent, (Aquarian sight), undiminished by
individual and national perceptions, needs, and opinions.
(Piscean). In March and June (2003), two major planets (a
social and transpersonal) shift into new sign positions
-- Uranus entered Pisces and Saturn enters Cancer --
creating new dimensions of experience and understanding
in all the endeavors humanity undertakes. Significant
planetary shifts into new signs bring us more in line
with our evolutionary focus (toward Spirit), and allow
our material focus (involution) to recede.
Uranus in Pisces and the
Aquarian Age
Uranus is called the "great awakener." Uranus in
Pisces will awaken and liberate (Uranus) our imagination
(Pisces). Uranus will also bring new creative visions
(Pisces) and a brilliant chaos (Uranus) will emerge. As
our creativity awakens and chaos reigns, even more vision
will be unleashed. This is the promise of the Aquarian
Age. Uranus, as the primary ruler of Aquarius,
distributes Aquarian energy into our Earth. Uranus is the
planet of revolution (acts, thinking, timing, etc.) and
it rules the Aquarian Age. Pisces is the ruler of our
previous Age, and Pisces energy and influence is
presently being withdrawn as its time (2,150 years) is
over.
Uranus entered Pisces on March
10th, remaining there for seven years (till May 27,
2010). Uranus's job description is to abruptly, rapidly,
and with revolutionary force, overthrow and eliminate all
factors from the Piscean Age that do not fit into the
Aquarian Age. An age is approximately 2,150 years long
and it takes about 500 years for a new age to emerge and
its properties of change be identified. The first
beginnings of the Aquarian Age occurred around 1475, at
the time of the Renaissance. A later emergence occurred
in 1625. Since the 1960s there has been extraordinary
change on our planet, computers and technology have
emerged creating a global connectiveness, and time
(Saturn) itself seems to have accelerated (all
Aquarius/Uranian influences).
As we are standing at the door of
the Aquarian era it is appropriate to ask what are the
signatures of Aquarius? One important signifier is that
Aquarius is the sign of the common person joined with
others to create One Humanity (Aquarius). It is in
Aquarius that humanity, a world disciple, discovers
(Uranus) it has one (Pisces) voice. The February 15/16,
2003 peace marches, where millions of individuals turned
out to censure the push for war, were Aquarian
revolutionary events. Aquarius will influence humanity to
create communities, where like minded individual gather
and provide their individual gifts to the group in
service to all of humanity. The Peace Marches were the
first semblance of world wide Aquarian (for the people)
community gathering and provided the basis for "common
action with others." (words of UCSC Professor of
Sociology John Brown Childs in his book,
"Transcommunality -From the Politics of Conversion to the
Ethics of Respect", Temple University Press,
Philadelphia, 2003)
Age of Pisces
This event (February peace marches), and there will
be more such events in the future, is different than what
occurred in the Piscean Age. Churches, with their
priests, rabbis, and clergymen, were the voices for and
to the people. The masses of humanity were influenced to
come out of the warring (Mars) nature of Aries, attend
church, and develop a sense of the hope, faith, holiness,
and a sensitivity and feeling for the sacred. Education
for the masses developed during the last one hundred
years of Pisces. Now that most of the world's lower minds
are developed (through study and schools), these minds
are making their own decisions concerning life. Instead
of the priest or elected official making the decisions,
humanity feels that it is educated enough to ask
questions, to question accepted realities, and to change
the face of the world, which, actually, is humanity's job
description to do. We simply needed to be educated first,
which the Piscean Age brought forth, first by the
churches, and then by governments.
The Ages and our Development
Every detail of our history has been a history of
humanity's development of consciousness. And this
consciousness development has been very slow. Each age
(2,150 years long) brought forth a new level for humanity
to search, develop, and discover in order to become
knowledgeable enough to rule itself. As each age ends, we
find that we have learned something new. As each age
begins we are presented with our next stage of growth.
Humanity attends a rigorous school called Earth. Through
countless reincarnational lives, each time returning
within our same group of family and friends, experiencing
the different cultural milieus (together), humanity has
slowly progressed to a time in our history when we
realize that, as a community, as world aspirants and
disciples, we are educated and mindful enough to begin to
create our future together. This is the Aquarian ideal
and the waters (electrical) pouring forth from the
Aquarian constellation at this time influences us to
stand up, be heard, and gather as individuals into
communities whose purpose is to affect world change. The
web has played its part in uniting us into one voice. Now
we will unite ideologies and globalize the planet. This
will create the planetary culture.
Another View
But there is the other side of this new age rising
which we must recognize. And it is that there are those
who cannot yet imagine this new culture, whose promise is
freedom from the past (era, age, regime, etc.). These are
the ones who cannot respond to the liberation call of
Aquarius. Instead, they remain within the influence of
Pisces, where the individual was/is king, one "exalted"
leader provides the vision, and all who do not comply
with their standards are eliminated. Martyrdom for an
ideal (good or ill and always for religious purposes)
was/is the Piscean ideal. Notice which cultures still
hold martyrdom in reverence and act upon it. This
knowledge informs us of what level of development they
are still on.
Contrast and Polarity
Why this contrast and polarity of realities? We must
understand that Earth is a planet of both free will and
of polarization. Through seeing different sides of
issues, we come to choice. When Earth was created, and it
was/is an experiment, the Gods agreed not to interfere
with our growth and development. It was decreed that we
must come to consciousness on our own, which is the
experiment. The contrasts here on Earth provide us with
information. We have night so we can understand day. We
have dark so we can see light. We have rest so we can
have action. We have winter so we can recognize summer.
We have disengagement so we can once again become
engaged. We experience mistrust so that we can seek
trust. Polarization educates us. It creates tension
within and without so we can see both sides, be able to
discriminate, and thus choose. The astrological
polarities that we are experiencing at present are the
energies of the previous age, Pisces, where we learned to
"believe in something greater than ourselves, and the
newer energies of Aquarius, still unfolding, where we
will begin to understand scientifically, what we
previously only believed in. Therefore, we can say that
Pisces was about belief system (not knowledge). In Pisces
we came to a mystical (feeling/sensing) way of
understanding reality. Aquarius, on the other hand, is
about knowledge (not feeling) gathering, the results
being that we will create a new mind and a new science.
This is the occult way of understanding reality. Two
world views (mystical/occult), two ages
(Pisces/Aquarius), two ways of interacting with reality
(mine/ours, inclusivity/exclusivity)…so we can learn
about and exercise choice. Choice makes us conscious. It
also makes us responsible. It is preparation for a later
stage of growth, far into our future, when we will be
creators of our own universes.
Astrology as Cosmic Ecology
One of the primary functions of astrology is to place
humanity in historical context, to identify what stage of
development humanity is experiencing in terms of
involution (downward into matter) and evolution (upward
toward Spirit). This image is quite like the Pisces fish,
one facing downward into matter (Go forth into matter)
and the other facing upward (World Savior). These are two
distinct paths humanity treads. Astrology provides the
greatest framework to study not only the individual
(personal astrology), but politics, trends, events,
history, and stages of development. A firm grasp of
astrology demonstrates influences that, generated from
above (from points outside of our solar system and
within), affect and influence every aspect of our lives.
Astrology, thus is the cosmic ecological system in the
universe.
Uranian (Uranus in Pisces)
Events
The following signs identify what area of life will
be affected by Uranus's transit (movement) into Pisces.
But first we need to know that Uranus produces the
strangest of events in a most unusual and unexpected
manner. Uranus is the only planet turned on its side (its
rings are not horizontal like Saturn's rings, but are
perpendicular, vertical, standing straight up and down.)
Uranus produces what could be seen as destruction. But it
is the destruction of the old and worn out. With Uranus
in Pisces, what will be released will be the destruction
of those aspects of the Piscean Age that cannot be
redeemed enough to be of use for the Aquarian Age. When
this destructive phase is in full force, we experience
chaos. And it has already begun (Sept. 11th). This time
of chaos is referenced in the Mayan teachings as
occurring prior to the end phase of its calendar (2012).
Uranus in Pisces will lead us beyond our expectations.
Ultimately it is leading us further into the Aquarian
Age, for Uranus is the ruler on both personality and
Spiritual levels, of Aquarius. Our horizon is thus
expanded and with this, our human potential. Uranus in
Pisces will usher in a newer, more modern, technological
and scientific age leading to synthesis, a new order, and
a new beauty. The potential for us will be not only
further freedoms and liberation, but also greater
responsibilities, for which this time of chaos is
preparation.
Global Change
On a global level, humanity will be concerned with
the use and distribution of oil and water. We already see
the oil issues occurring in the Mideast crisis and the
privatization of water rights. We will have the ability
to further explore previously uncharted depths of our
seas and oceans due to the discovery and creation of new
scientific equipment. Perhaps we will discover new
species in the deep seas that we have been unable to
probe. Seas and oceans are Pisces. Science is Uranus.
There will be increased news of drugs, legal and illegal;
news about ships and shipping, renewable fuels, medical
advances, breakthroughs and medical research. Hydrogen
(Uranus) will be explored as an alternate to fossil fuels
(Pisces). Viruses and diseases and molds may spread,
species both old and new due to adaptation. (There is
presently [March, 2003] serious concern by the
World Health Organization about a respiratory illness,
spreading rapidly, that does not respond to our
antibiotics.) Perhaps, with Uranus in Pisces, the reason
for autism will be discovered as new information on the
brain/mind and nervous system (Uranus) comes to light.
Alternative medicines will combine more fully with
traditional healing. The film industry will be
transformed by the new science and technology. New arts
and music will emerge.
At the end of an age, and before
the new age has been firmly established, all artistic
endeavors suffer from a lack of creativity and beauty,
which we see at present. Uranus brings forth the new.
Pisces is music and art. Therefore, we will see new and
experimental art forms and music emerging. New ideals,
dreams and visions (Pisces) will be provided humanity in
the coming Uranus in Pisces times, lasting seven years.
Religions will alter, undergo changes (the Catholic
Church has already experienced this) as the new
spirituality takes form. There is word that the Christ
(title of a position whose job description is the
anchoring of Love and Will on the planet), the Aquarian
teacher for all religions, cultures, and people will
finally externalize. As Uranus and Aquarius rule
astrology, this discipline and art will finally flower as
it once did in the universities of Europe till the 11th
century. After this seven year period, Uranus will enter
Aries. This planetary event will occur around the time
that the Mayan calendar ends, which signifies that all
the cycles, great and small, are synchronizing, fusing,
climaxing, and coming together. Looking back after these
seven Uranian years which produced chaos, we will see
that our attitudes and systems of belief, our sciences
and technology, our entire reality will have completely
shifted individually, collectively, globally, and
planetarily. Then will the world be ours (humanity's) to
truly steward.
Three Spiritual Spring
Festivals
In the coming months, three spiritual festivals are
available to humanity and they are deeply relevant to
today's world and to our human needs. The first is the
Easter Full Sun/Moon of Aries/Libra on April 16th. The
second is the Wesak, Buddha Full Sun/Moon of
Taurus/Scorpio on May 15th and the third is the Festival
of Humanity Full Sun/Moon of Gemini/Scorpio on June 14th.
At each festival forces needed by humanity are released.
Individuals within groups are invited to participate in
these festivals as they are festivals of service for
humanity. Participation is simple and achieved by
reciting the world prayer, "The
Great Invocation", at the
Full (and New) Moons and thus joining with the New Group
of World Servers around the globe who stand between
Hierarchy and massed humanity and hold the Plan for our
world. During Easter the Forces of Restoration stream in,
during Wesak the Forces of Enlightenment, and at the June
Festival of Goodwill, the forces of Reconstruction
complete the threefold spiritual energy that pour into
our planet. All of these are described in Ancient Wisdom
texts as constituting "the New Materialsim," for the
purpose of these outer and intra-planetary energies is to
fuse matter with spirit for the creation of new, living,
vibrant forms expressing Divinity on Earth. At the Wesak
Festival, the Buddha makes a physical appearance, thus
uniting the Eastern and Western approaches to God. Wesak
demonstrates the link between Hinduism, Buddhism, and
Christianity, and Christianity has a link with Islam and
with Judaism from which it grew.
Cry for Freedom
The cry of humanity today is for freedom, but we yet
do not know what freedom is. Freedom from what? Humanity
thinks it desires freedom from authority, and definitely
freedom from tyranny is an appropriate desire. But we
must come to acknowledge that the only true authority is
the authority of the Soul. What humanity really desires
is freedom from suffering. In the next seven years, as
Uranus moves through Pisces, we will be able to see more
clearly the ways and means to this freedom as the new
Laws and Principles of the New Aquarian Age begin to
influence us deeply, personally, and finally globally.
Then the planetary culture will become a living event
that each of us, with our imagination, vision, and
creativity, will help create.
The Laws and Principles of the
Aquarian Age
The following are the Laws and Principles which will
guide humanity through the Aquarian Age. Different than
the guidelines provided for the Piscean Age, these new
laws and principles have as their basis the concept of
group Right Relations. The approach is Spiritual and not
emotional, and the outcome is synthesis.
The Laws are:
- the Law of Right Human Relations
- the Law of Group Endeavor
- the Law of Spiritual Approach
The Principles are:
- the Principle of Goodwill
- the Principle of Unanimity
- the Principle of Essential Divinity
